The ABC of tripwires, setting up IVS

Intelligent Video Surveillance (IVS) is the technology modern systems use for accurate tracking of moving objects and automatic detection of suspicious activity. Compared with conventional motion detection it’s far more reliable and much less prone to false alarms. Here’s how to set it up on VIP Vision NVRs and IP cameras:

1. Right-click and select Main Menu, then click the Event icon.
2. Select Smart Plan on the left, choose the channel you’re using, select the IVS icon to turn it on, and click Apply.
3. Select the IVS section on the left, choose the channel to apply IVS to, and click Add.
4. Set the trigger rules, draw a tripwire line or intrusion-detection line, or adjust the size of the target you’re looking for.
5. Once set up, test it to confirm the camera detects the rules you’ve applied.
